Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif has offered a small piece of advice ahead of the high-octane T20 World Cup clash between India and Pakistan, urging the fans to treat the match as a normal game and not war. Kaif said that it is always a great idea to watch cricket by keeping away from politics, hate and arrogance.

All eyes of the sporting fraternity will be on the blockbuster clash in Dubai on October 24 when Virat Kohli’s team locks horns with Babar Azam’s side. India and Pakistan last played bilateral cricket in 2012 but their meetings in ICC tournaments have garnered huge interest.

Everyone awaits this match — the fans because of its novelty factor, the ICC and the broadcasters for filling up the coffers. Everyone is invested, be it emotionally, like the fans, or materially, like the other stakeholders.

“On this nervous morning, one small advice. It is always a great idea to watch cricket by keeping away from politics, hate and arrogance. Enjoy the day, celebrate your win not your rival’s defeat. Treat it as a game, not war. #indvspak,” Mohammad Kaif tweeted.

Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, two of the superstar batters going around, will go head to head as captains in a World Cup match for the first time and the expectations are already hitting the roof.

India’s record against Pakistan in the World Cups has become a talking point ahead of each of their meetings in showpiece events. India have a 7-0 record against Pakistan in 50-over World Cups and a 5-0 record in the T20 World Cups.
